This has been the weirdest weekend and sh*t is getting real.
We’ve had two days of “stop all movement” excepting meals because of all the sick people getting moved to E unit.
Each unit has three pods. Two in A unit are on quarantine lockdown. One of in B unit is on quarantine. I know at least one wing in C unit is on quarantine, and I don’t know if any of the wings in D unit are on lockdown or not.
Today, Monday, there was no chain in to TRU. I don’t know if there was an outgoing chain, hopefully not.
All of this seems to be a mirror of what’s going on out in the world, except it’s a nasty strain of the flu and not COVID-19 which has the facility shutting down. At least, that’s the official story. The DOC is not known for honesty, transparency, or accountability so… who knows?
The silver lining is that all the safety precautions which are being taken for COVID-19 is slowing down whatever bug has the prison coughing up a lung.
Social distancing works. Most of the people who are sick are the same people who have chosen to ignore the warnings and continued to act as if everything was “business as usual.”
